Lawrence A. Schaeffer, MD, attended Universidad Anáhuac Mexico North Campus in Mexico, and received his medical degree in 1981. Then, he completed postgraduate training at the National Institute of Nutrition in Mexico City (internal medicine) and the National Institute of Perinatology (pediatrics/OBGYN). He also trained in social services in Mexico City before relocating to the United States where he conducted his internal medicine residency at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in El Paso. Furthermore, he completed his fellowship training in neurology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, TX. Dr. Schaeffer received board certification in internal medicine from the American Board of Internal Medicine.
